Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th, and is a time to honor and appreciate the rich cultures of Hispanic and Latino communities. During this month, we recognize the countless contributions, traditions, and achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans, both past and present. It's an opportunity to delve into the diverse histories, art, music, cuisine, and stories that have shaped our nation. The Anne Arundel County Public Library features many engaging and family-friendly events and programs to help celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Learn more HERE.

It’s RennFest Time!

Every year, Crownsville is overtaken by jousting knights, peasants and merchants selling their wares, and noblemen and ladies wandering through the land holding massive turkey legs. The Maryland Rennaissance Festival is full of family fun and activities, excellent food, and imaginative performances. Secure your tickets HERE, and don’t miss the historical merriment!

Annapolis Sailboat and Powerboat Shows

It’s always fascinating to wander the docks lined with boats of all makes and models at the Annapolis Boat Shows. . . and dream about what I will buy if I win the lottery!  Annapolis hosts the Powerboat Show October 5th - 8th and the Sailboat Show October 12th - 15th, giving Anne Arundel residents an opportunity board and tour watercraft, attend informational seminars, and shop for boat accessories. Annapolis has worldwide reputation as a welcoming port, and the Shows allows us to display our hospitality and waterfront culture for visitors from around the globe. Expanding our Schools

I was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting of the recently expanded Chesapeake Science Point, a top-ranked school in our county, on September 20th. Congratulations to School Board Members Gloria Dent and Dana Schallheim on their hard work and successful efforts to bring this project to fruition. It is no secret that providing world-class education to Anne Arundel County's children has long been my priority.
