District 1 Budget Town Hall
Thank you to everyone who joined me and County Executive Steuart Pittman for our District 1 Budget Town Hall. This was a great opportunity for citizens to share their priorities for the county budget with local leaders. To watch a recording of last night’s livestream of the Town Hall, click HERE.
Black History Month
As we commemorate Black History Month, it's a time to reflect on the remarkable contributions of Black Americans throughout history. Black excellence is integral to Anne Arundel County's story, from trailblazing leaders to artists, activists, and everyday heroes. This year, the theme of Black History Month is "African Americans and the Arts," and celebrates Black art and artists.
Let's take this month and beyond to celebrate and acknowledge the many achievements that have shaped our communities. Together, we can continue to foster an inclusive environment that honors and respects the richness of Black history and our shared history.

Celebrating the Life of Geraldine Lippman
It’s incredible how impactful someone's life can be. I was humbled to attend the celebration of life for Ms. Geraldine Lippman, a woman who certainly left her mark on our community. An educator, a stalwart supporter of her community’s youth, and a civil rights activist for many years, Ms. Lippman held many leadership positions in her church and the community.
Following her celebration of life, I had the opportunity to speak at the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center, an institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Wiley H. Bates High School. For over thirty years thirty, Wiley H. Bates was the only high school for African American students in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County; Ms. Lippman graduated in 1962. Ms. Lippman, known by many as Ms. Gerri, left an indelible mark on the community, shaping, and enhancing the lives of those around her, and will be greatly missed.
Endorsing Mike Rogers for Congress
As we strive to continue helping our fellow citizens, I'm thrilled to endorse a public servant who shares my service vision. Mike Rogers is a dedicated and creative problem solver who routinely sacrifices his time and resources to help those with the least. With over 30 years of public service, including time in the Army, retiring as a Colonel, and service in the Marine Corps, he has consistently shown his dedication to our country and county. As a fellow veteran, I appreciate the commitment Mike has brought to the forefront for issues that matter to us all. His ability to work with leaders from different political belief systems is critical for success as a legislator. But more importantly, he's a friend who has always stood by me in the trenches to get work done.
Maryland's 3rd Congressional District would do well under his leadership, and I was happy to canvass in the rain, sleet, and snow in support of Mike Rogers for Congress.
